Dog day care customers in Brixington have raised more than £70 for global animal welfare.

Barkingham Palace, in Broadmead, Exmouth, raised £76 for the Humane Society International thanks to the support of its customers who regularly donate small change to the cause.

The dog day care company plans to raise further funds for the Humane Society International by holding its first charity dog wash week, with all proceeds from the event donated.

Samantha Reynolds, Barkingham Palace owner, thanked her clients for supporting the charity.

She said: “To raise £76 in such a short space of time we feel is incredible. Our customers regularly donate their loose change.

“We also purchase Pawsecco from Poppy’s Paws, resell it and the profit goes to the Humane Society International.

“We will soon be holding our first charity dog wash week’, where the palace pooches can have a bath for the usual £5 and this will all go to the charity.”
