FUNDRAISERS who cycled to Africa and back and a charity champion have handed Sidmouth Living With Cancer Support Group a double cash delight totalling £4,373.

Doug Millar and his uncle Rob, who cycled 3,000 miles to Morocco and back in September, recently handed a cheque to the new presidents of the charity, Pat and Eddie Cannings.

Bill Lankester, chairman of the valued cause, said he was “forever grateful” to the duo for the £4,073 they raised.

Another funding boost came from Win Manley, who netted £300 for Living With Cancer at a coffee morning at her home in December.

The event also bagged £500 for Devon Freewheelers - a charity that delivers urgent medical samples, drugs, surgical equipment and donor organs across Devon for the NHS at no charge.

“Win is a tremendous supporter of our group and other local charities, and to raise more than £800 in one coffee morning is a wonderful achievement,” added Bill

“Our thanks go to Win and to all of her helpers and to those that supported the event.”
