Grace Haskins needs to find £3,500 to pay for her South Africa aid mission
A 17 year old Colyton Grammar School student is working hard to raise £3,500 – so she can help needy people in South Africa.
Grace Haskins is travelling to the country during the summer holidays to undertake conservation work, help children in a local school and carry out community tasks.
Buy before she can go she has to raise the cost of the trip.
To achieve the sum she has been carrying out lots of fundraising activities including a sponsored silence, bag packing, cake sales and working as a lifeguard at Axminster’s Flamingo swimming pool.
As a finale to her fundraising activities at the end of June Grace ran the Torbay half marathon.
Although she is a keen sports woman she had never completed this distance before, but she finished in a commendable two hours and four minutes to finish second in her age group.
The expedition is organised by Outposts and Grace has a JustGiving page where friends and supporters can make donations
