Axe Valley Community Choir entertains around 100 at the town hall

Colyton and Colyford Memory Café hosted a charity concert in support of Dementia Action Week – and raised £700.

Around 100 people went along to Colyton Town Hall to enjoy a repertoire of songs performed by the 48-strong Axe Valley Community Choir.

Musical Director Edward Jacobs, enthused everyone with his skilful conducting and thrilling piano accompaniment. Refreshments were on offer at the bar during the interval, and a raffle was included.

The Memory Café co-ordinator, Sue Whitell, took the opportunity to speak about the ways in which everyone can play their part to support people who are trying to live well with dementia.

Organisers thanked the Community Choir for offering their services free of charge, the volunteers who helped with the planning and organisation, and everyone who supported the event.

Colyton and Colyford Memory Café meets on the first Wednesday afternoon of each month at St John Hall, King Street, Colyton. For more information, please ring Sue Whitell 01297 599477.
