Campaign group tells Exmouth shoppers ‘Brexit is not a done deal’

Devon for Europe campaigners told Exmouth shoppers Brexit was not a done deal when volunteers set up a stall in the Magnolia Centre on Saturday.

The group, which claims to build support for halting Brexit, said volunteers ‘campaigned for people to have a voice when the terms of the proposed agreement to leave the EU are known, including the option to remain’.

Simon Chater, who organised the Exmouth event, said similar campaign stalls were held throughout towns in Devon, attracting new supporters.

He said: “It was a fantastic effort by all involved and I think it’s particularly encouraging to see so many new local volunteers coming along to the stalls. “By holding these street stalls, we are able let people know that Brexit is not a done deal and that we believe that the people should decide if any deal is good enough.”
