Axminster woman seriously injured in A35 accident

Police appeal for information after two car collision at Tanton Cross, near Shute

Police are appealing for information following a serious collision close to the Taunton Cross junction on the A35 near to Shute.

Officers were notified at approximately 7.10pm on Saturday (November 11) to reports of a two car collision.

A blue Nissan Micra, which was travelling towards Honiton, collided with a black BMW 3 series which was travelling towards Axminster.

The two vehicles sustained heavy impact damage. Two further vehicles suffered minor damage from the debris of the initial collision.

The driver of the Nissan, a 70-year-old woman from the Axminster area, sustained serious injuries and is currently in Derriford Hospital Plymouth where her condition is described as critical.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigation Team are appealing for witnesses to come forward, particularly those who may have any dash cam footage.
